Being a daughter, they say, is grace,

To wear a smile in every place.

To give, to bend, to sacrifice,

To hold the world at any price.

You’re told to listen, to always obey,

To quiet your dreams and hide them away.

For a daughter’s duty, they make it clear,

Is to chase their joy, not yours, my dear.

But what of the heart that beats inside?

What of the dreams you cannot hide?

When you dare to choose, to stand, to fight,

The world calls your freedom an endless slight.

They’ll whisper blame, they’ll cast their doubt,

They’ll wonder what your life’s about.

Your name becomes their cruel refrain,

As they mourn your joy like it’s their pain.

But being a daughter is more than this,

Not chains, but love, is where it exists.

You are not bound to lose your way,

To silence yourself, to fade away.

So walk the path that’s meant for you,

With courage fierce and heart so true.

Being a daughter may not be light,

But your own happiness is your right.
