The Way, I See It

By: Paul Abijah Raphu

There was a big bang,

whirling winds and gases

the song the universe sang,

but who was there to hear it.

If space has no sound,

No one standing around

Nothing to carry the sound,

How can we be sure there was even a sound

And if there’s no sound

How can a bang be silent

Nevertheless, I digress

They say the galaxy travailed and gave birth to planets

Bringing forth sons and daughters for us to inhabit

Stars roaring hot with plasma,

Setting the stage right for planetary actors

Scientists and theologians who will pretend thereafter

That they have the answer

To why we are here

What they’ve done was create a gumbo of confusion

That shatters the human spirit with grandeur of delusion,

This egotistical vortex causse nothing but confusion

Forcing mankind to draw their own conclusions.

In spite of all this they continue to lie to the world

Because they’ve lied to themselves,

Thinking nobody else

Can explain the song of the universe sang,

The big bang

But who was there to hear it.

Through the lies, they tried to hypnotize the minds of men

With their words, they pretend, they comprehend

The reason we are here

But no one knows.

So, I choose to be the best I can be

Every day to see the good in me,

To make my destiny what I say it should be

And I say to be the best lover of me.
