I'll tell you what I want

so you can wonder

about what will be

and not what won't

.

I want to drink from your cup

your everflowing cup

.

with such tenderness

and love

.

that it fills you up

again & again

so I can drink more

& more deeply

.

I want to feel your soul

break the levee & ignite

a paradox of pleasure

.

I want to feel your thighs

on my ears

I want to siphon off

your fears

.

to turn your darkness

into a wildness we can share

.

I want to play your body

as an instrument

to lift you through the scales

and the ceiling

.

until you can't tell if you are breathing

if your heart is beating

or if the bed is breaking

.

until the melodies of desire

burn brighter inside you—

so bright that your eyes catch fire

.

as mine do

when I look for you

.

I want to play the drum of your heart

until the beat breaks us

free from our chains

free to rearrange

.

I want to dive into you

the sound of your laughter

and your tantrums

.

to release that perfect note from your throat

that moan

.

to inspire you

to sing

.

until you can no longer tell where your body ends

and God begins

.

and I want you to pour

all over me

to shower head to toe

in your water of life

.

to swim in a pool of you

to become lost

in mist

and kisses

.

for if I am to die

I would die drowning in you

and would die happy...

.

and then I would still

rise to fetch you

a glass of water

.

That is what I want

.
