each second is never enough

our eyes meet

our glasses clink

our appetites remain

transfixed in a glance

watching you

watching me

we mouth a secret hello

as we play this

familiar game

mouths in our eyes

watching you

watching me

our eyes dance

a soft tango

our minds asway

imagination at play

watching you

watching me

we visually feast

on each other

each transient morsel

devoured ravenously

watching you

watching me

caught in each other’s gaze

ripped on the others teeth

we bleed and drool

we part and become whole

watching you

watching me

we digest each other

we ingest we smother

slowly one limb

at a time

watching you

watching me

love poems
