The Volts Of Mercy
Open up the volts of mercy,
save me, set me free.
Let the currents burn away
the chains that tether me.
Lightning sings
through hollow veins,
a spark within the cold,
mercy crackling in the dark,
more precious than gold.
No hand to hold,
no whispered prayer,
just thunder at my feet,
a mercy fierce enough to strike,
to break, to make me fleet.
Let the sky split wide with fire,
let the storm consume my name.
Wash my sins in molten light,
leave nothing left to claim.
I have begged in silent chambers,
I have bled on sharpened stone,
but mercy is an untamed force,
not something to atone.
It comes in streaks
of burning white,
a flood, a sudden breath,
not gentle hands
or whispered peace,
but mercy born of death.
So strike me clean,
O raging light,
let fire be my plea.
No prayers, no chains,
just volts of mercy
tearing through the heart
of you and of me too.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️
