The Verse of Learning's Light

In a village where the sun did rise,
Lived a poet with wisdom in his eyes,
He sought to teach through lines so bright,
A tale of learning, in the day and night.



First, he spoke of form and shape,
"Like stanzas, life has gaps to drape,
Structure gives your thoughts a home,
In free verse or rhyme, let your words roam."



Then, with a whisper to the wind, he said,
"Paint with words, let images spread,
A metaphor's a bridge, a simile's a friend,
Make readers see, let them comprehend.


He taught of feelings, deep and vast,
"Emotions in your lines must last,
For what's a poem if not a heart's echo,
In joy or sorrow, let your readers know."


And so, his story began to weave,
Of a young learner, eager to believe,
In the power of words, in poetry's might,
To change the world, to shine a light.


"Title your work," the poet would say,
"With words that seekers might type today,
For in this digital, vast, and wide expanse,
Your poem's first line is its chance to dance."


He gathered all, from near and far,
"To share your poem, be a star,
Engage with readers, join the talk,
In every comment, in every walk."


"Each month, a challenge," he'd propose,
"Write on themes, from love to woes,
For in constraints, creativity grows,
And through these trials, your skill shows."


"Incorporate an image, bold and clear,
A visual to draw the eye, to endear,
For poetry today must dance with sight,
In this blend, your words take flight."


He spoke of themes, timeless and true,
"Write of love, of skies so blue,
Of human strife, and dreams we chase,
Connect with all, in every place."


As twilight fell, his tale did end,
But left each heart with much to mend,
For in his poem was life's own school,
Where rules of verse made each a rule.

"Remember this," the poet's last line,
"Poetry's not just yours or mine,
It's a journey, an endless quest,
To teach, to learn, to be our best."
