The Ups and Downs

Love’s true nature

By Brooklynn ColePublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Love is a rambunctious red... angry, passionate and fiery.

Wild and untamed like curls after a lust filled night under a starry sky.

Gregariously green as a picnic on a hilltop or like stumbling clumsily through a first kiss.

Love is whimsically white as an angel in the snow. Cold and beautiful as a sweet embrace in a frosted flurry.

Bodaciously blue as the tear rolling happily down a soft cheek after a whispered “I do.”

Love is phenomenally pink as a setting sun floating across a horizon, smiling down on the couple walking the shore.

Tantalizingly transparent as an open diary confessing true love or like a heart embellished on a sleeve.

But above all else, love is the sublime silver lining that is faithful through it’s gloomy gray storms and cold nights spent alone.

Unwavering through life’s toughest moments, knowing that all that glitters... isn’t gold.
