The Unraveling

When he plays the victim, silence can break

How did you stay silent for so long?

a proverbial sitting duck

Until he unleashed his victimized song

full of lies, years of lies where you were left stuck

You want to silence the world with everything you have to say

how you suffered for years on end, without a clue day to day

But his words were quicker, he left you out to dry

fallen, shrunken, images gone awry

Images you can’t even remember

yet now the world has their own version of you

Still you’re silent, letting him speak

he’s only telling half truths

You want to silence him,

instead you tell him,

Be the weak one, play the victim

it will unravel faster than you can comprehend

soon life as you know it, will come to an end
