The Unknown

I am a stranger to this world.

As I lay complacent with the thoughts that riddle me of my past.

Forsaken to encounter what only my fingers can carve out,

for what my memories can hold.

Yet I still look for virtue in a life built for two.

No companion on this ark of discovery.

Abandoned by a well, dry-mouthed and hoarse.

Hoping I cave to an opportunity.

But when the fire in you're, eyes die out;

when your inner child weeps, you have nothing left but a picture frame.

How do you say hello to tomorrow morning?

As birds accompany the sky.

As the trees and winds wrestle.

And the sun beacons, I began to realize a true opportunity.

______

Let freedom be nature until I can be uncoddled by this nurturing life.

Questioning the colors of my decisions, not knowing,

not understanding that a life with freedom is puzzling.

So I ponder!

At the whispers echoing in the moonlight from sisters and brothers;

who once sat by that same well alone.

I need to know!

Did you sip from it?

Did it fulfill your true desires, reveal the unknown, or ease your ambitions?

Such water can only be from the tears of ancestors,

a history of war.

A recycle of resilience passed onto me.

A seed that will grow into a garden of forbidden fruit.

I'll continue to paint the walls of my mind white til you color me black and blue!

Tell me...

does this water beat you senseless,

Will it wash away my white flag and raise my hands instead?

I'm scared, for born sinners make the best company.

Yet no invitation to the promised land was sent.

So here I am,

Still questioning

Still wondering

Still Living

(in hopes I see tomorrow)
