Kill Me With The Truth

Kill me with the truth.

The lie is so sweet and tender.

Runs down my spine like the lizard you are.

The truth might be bitter fruit.

But it stems from the root.

Ease your tongue upon my brow.

And the fallacies will create a frow.

No human is ever 100% right all the time.

None of the prophets were 100% right all of the time.

The disciples were not 100% right all the time.

Sometimes it is okay to be wrong,

For it is where our humility lives.

Jesus was even corrected at least once according to the written account of his time with the disciples.

Our mistake is thinking when we find or learn we are wrong

That we should hide it.

Instead,

Acknowledge it,

Embrace it,

Learn from it,

Then let it go.

You are not God, even though you were made in his image.

An image is rarely an exact replication of the original.

I'm so glad that our Ms. Novel Allen introduced you to me. *Although your eclectic offerings are so closely grouped together I can hardly keep up with you. *But as I scroll through your gorgeous headings I've subscribedΒ to you with pleasure. I love this poem! It's true we often feel shame and embarrassment when we make mistakes, but instead, we should embrace those mistakes to grow and live to our full potential in life. Like you said, no one is 100% correct, but the beauty of being human is that we can continuously grow and mature throughout life.

Beautiful. I love accountability and a good redemption arc, no one is irredeemable in my eyes; but self-honesty is always step 1 on that path. You captured this nuance so well, with so much TRUTH.
