Ireland is green,

Though the ancient Celts wore blue,

Blue eternally!

***********************************************************

Despite the images of green clovers and green leprechauns, green wasn't particularly precious to the ancient Celts. Blue was the color which ressonated the most with my ancestors and reminded them of their free nature.

This legacy was well preserved and documented by Roman writers who mentioned how Celts would often paint themselves blue before battles. Blue meant freedom from the tyranny of Rome, something the Celts died trying to achieve.

Love the history on this one. I'm of Scottish descent so we're like cousins, right? :)
