The Tree's Secret
A Sensational Poem

In the forest, where trees speak secrets,
Whispers rustle through the leaves,
Their roots tangle like the knots in my heart,
As I walk, haunted by what I perceive.
The trees tower above me, grand and true,
But what secrets do they keep hidden away?
Do they know the depth of my love for you,
Or the fear that I will never have my say?
Like a patient etherized upon a table,
I am paralyzed by my doubt and dread,
As the trees watch me with their knowing eyes,
Their bark a canvas for secrets unsaid.
I long to touch their rough and rugged skin,
To peel away their layers and find the truth,
But like a thief in the night, I fear what I'll uncover,
And the pain that it will surely produce.
So I stand here, frozen in time and space,
As the trees continue their whispered chatter,
Their secrets safe within their wooden hearts,
As I long for the courage to climb their ladder.
For like the trees, my heart is a secret,
One that I long to share and set free,
But until then, I am but a silent observer,
In the midst of a forest, full of secrets and mystery.

Wonderful, spiritual, mystical.... we love the strong connection with the magic of nature, and the beautiful poetic language flows nicely. Really well done!💙Anneliese
