First she was born

Dark and grey

Ugly duckling was what she was called

Her mother was appalled

Her mother said beauty on the outside isn’t as important as on the inside

You may be able to put makeup to make you look beautiful

But eating make up can’t make you beautiful inside.

Now she grows

She spreads her wings

She is the true definition of beauty within

Now she has grown

Learned to live with the beauty inside

But as she grew her beauty on the outside came as well

Her beautiful pure white feathers

Now she is no longer the ugly duckling

But the dreams of many

She flies in the sky spreading her wings

And telling her stories to other ducklings

She teaches them a lesson

To fall for someone who has beauty within not just on the outside

Have beauty, brains and beauty within

She knows that she had a rough road but now she is free to let her beauty shine with her pure white feathers
