The Storm
A Villanelle About The Recent Storm On Tyneside

About The Storm
Over the weekend we were subjected to high winds and rain. I live in Fenham which is one of the highest points in Newcastle.
Walking through the gardens at St James and St Basilβs one of my Vocal friends Lesley (Call Me Les) commented on a selfie I took there asking if I was talking to my Muse. I always do in one way or another to gain inspiration and this morning was no different.
The music I will include is βInto The Stormβ by Lift To Experience.
This is a Villanelle form which you can read about in my βOn Poetryβ piece below, although I am sticking to rhyme I am varying the syllables to give the uncertainty of the effects of a storm.

The Storm Wind Makes The Leaves Sound
Like Rattlesnake Tails
Broken Branches Hit The Ground
βοΈππ©οΈπͺοΈ
Trees are swaying, leaves and twigs blown around
Fences swaying , fence posts fail
The Storm Wind Makes The Leaves Sound
βοΈππ©οΈπͺοΈ
The Wind Blows Harder Branches Fall With cracking sound
Birds are blown as like dogs they chase their tails
Broken Branches Hit The Ground
βοΈππ©οΈπͺοΈ
Tiles Fly from rooves to smash on the ground
Splintering In This Vicious Gale
The Storm Wind Makes The Leaves Sound
βοΈππ©οΈπͺοΈ
The Storm Relentless Rattling Sounds
Trees Are Split , Telling Tales
Broken Branches Hit The Ground
βοΈππ©οΈπͺοΈ
Another Tree Hits The Ground
Another Fence Falls and Fails
The Storm Wind Makes The Leaves Sound
Broken Branches Hit The Ground
