A glass of scotch,

old friends reminisce.

Memories of times no more,

joys and triumphs of someone you'll miss.

It was a long road,

filled with suffering and pain.

We walked it together,

nothing ever to be the same.

From Scotland to Liverpool, To London and beyond,

they had a life filled with toil and fun.

Never knowing when it would end,

always on the run.

A world worth saving,

in service of the crown.

The evils of the world always nipping at their heels,

until they were taken down.

Lovers came and went,

many of whom we will never forget.

They left you, I'm sure

with mountains filled with regret.

Madilyn, the worst of those that pained your heart for years,

none of us there as you suffered inside.

Quietly, you kept it all in, hiding away your tears

until you met her and felt that overwhelming pride.

It's not fair that the heroes seldom win,

only having met your daughter days ago,

now never to see her life really begin.

Fairness feels gone, as the days moving forward begin.

We gathered together, to drink a toast to your legacy

and it was with the saddest of sighs that we were forced

to endure the spies goodbye.

In honor of the character of James Bond, my fathers' favorite spy.
