The sleepless dream

with love

By Caleb EdmondsPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

You withdraw to your quarters, beginning to dream while awake. What a beautiful thing to behold, glimmers of light seeking your eyesight.

As you gaze into the blue and white expanse, the wind whistles catching your breath taking you with it. You’re carried away to the trees of the wood. As you begin to dance with the tallest of pines the smell of sap permeates the forest.

Suddenly a calm takes hold of you, as you watch the pine needles meander down to the morning dew. You’re refreshed as the sweet succulent nurtures your tired soul. There you rest; being takin into yourself to a tremendous resonating waterfall of conscious thought.

Overwhelmed by the current, your pulled under into the abyss. Continually it tugs you deeper and deeper. Here, in the darkness you make piece with the struggle that’s been pulling you under.

As you pray to be with the wind again. Something begins to pull you from that once eternal descent into nothingness. You begin to ascend, the light enticing you with its warmth.

You find yourself being carried gently into his light. Your heart begins to warm from his ever-extending rays. You begin to swim, finding great strength knowing he’s beside you. Rising to new heights your graced by the sun once more.

The feeling of freedom becomes you, as you’re swept away by a warm harmonious embrace. You come out of yourself feeling as if you can breath once again. You begin to feel the breath flowing back into your lungs, and sensation returning to your hands.

The soft sound of a crackling fire greets you. Upon awakening you come to the realization that home is only where the hearts at.
