"The Silence of Your Hands"
There.
Where your light used to fade.
Like a candle without flame, I melted.
Your fingers mapped
the spaces in the aura around me.
Now, empty space,
like a book that was never read.
I still feel the weight of your breath
on my back.

Like rain that falls very slowly.
And now?
Now I count the steps
you make in the hallway of time.
As you walk while I remain behind,
searching for your outline
in every place.
Where you will never return.
It is not your absence that hurts.
It is the silence of your hands.
That once said so many things
without using words.

so devastating yet lovely
This was so painful and relatable. Loved your poem!
The imagery here is so soft yet devastating. Gorgeous work.
That’s a great perspective, using the hands as the focal point of the story. Given how touch -or the lack of it - can define moments that are magical to us. Lovely piece.
