I listen for your voice

But I’m greeted with sheer quiet

Expecting you to come into a room

Your signature laugh is missed

I turn to discuss s TV show

But you are not here to answer back

The silence is loud and maddening

I long for your ringtone in my ear

But nothing is all so get

I miss you

How I long to hear your voice

The tears fall from longing

What I will never hear again

I look for you in all the familiar places

I know you are not here

Still I long for your whisper in my ear

Which sometimes I imagine I still hear
