Isn't it why we get out of our homes everyday?
Isn't it why we say hello? Or why we don't say hello?
Isn't it why we take a bath, or drink a cup of tea or take a picture or make a call, or hug and kiss each other? Isn't it why we make love? Or why we don't?
Isn't it why we drink mean coloured water or inhale ashy air or eat chunks and chunks of unhappy food?
Isn't it why we gamble and rape and kill and fight and scream and cry and steal and lie and smile and laugh?
Yes, it is. That inner satisfaction, that momentary relief.
Even if it's just for a second, even if we hate it. Even if we know we'll only be more dissatisfied at the end. Even if we know it's bad for us, even if we know we'll regret it.
We do it to feel alive, in control, free, strong to soar, to escape to be strong, or rather weak. To mould something better for the later days. To look 'OK to feel 'OK'. But in the end, is it worth it?
