The Science of the Praying Mantis

a poem

By Aaron MorrisonPublished about a month ago 1 min read
art by me

Enamored by your piety

Drawn in

Feel seen by your eyes

Compound and simple

You perceive me

Be an easy task

To reach out and grasp me

Hook me in

Your gentle sway

Alluring

Your redolence

Enthralling

Maybe you’re a trickster

Or maybe my guide home

Either way

I want to know you better

But I am a tempest of timidity

And I don’t want to lose my head

Nicely done. I knew it would be coming, but the last line still got an audible "HA" from me.👏👏👏

  • Damn, are you familiar with the discography of Cosmo Sheldrake? This feels like that. This is a compliment.
