The River of Reverie
A Guide for Vanishing to a Place Only You Can Know

Hold yourself close, and don’t let go;
sink your fingers deep into flesh, into bone;
tear away the veil of reality; the caged throne -
don’t be afraid of the pain - let it flow.

Hold yourself close, and don’t let go;
follow the trail of blood, of sinew, of home -
stick close to the path, don’t stray or roam;
don’t turn away from the river of reverie - the reminiscent glow.

Hold yourself close, and don’t let go;
dive into the sea of memory; so vast, so volatile -
push through the cacophony - all that is inutile,
resist the pull of the moon; the harbinger of woe.

Hold yourself close, and don’t let go;
sink to the bottom of the eventide,
prepare for the penultimate task - the regicide;
make sure to land the final blow.

Hold yourself close, and don’t let go;
you’re almost there, the center of all that is you:
the glacial perfection, the reflection in the deep blue -
the one place that only you can know.
