The reddening across the blue moon

Rarer than blue moon, the purple moon

By Melissa IngoldsbyPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

I picture you, my Moon-Muse,

Milky, cream-eyed, sloshed across the silver river

You painted that slice of heaven crimson

Sprinkled like Saffron,

You make me breathe in the blue moon’s chemistry as it’s heady, leathery

Honey, tar notes hit the mist, peppery

Like the kisses you peppered against me

That full blitz of unwavering attacks

Hit my senses, I’m in overdrive

The reddening swathes the blue,

It churns and compresses

It’s lunar new, and cosmic sunshine brand

Somehow influenced by your musical wink,

And I cannot blink,

It’s the rarest sight of all,

It’s the plum moon,

Deep down, like the inhale of God,

And I bend down to kiss your lashes,

Milky Way, I swerve but cannot help but notice your luminous new celestial frame,

Covered in reddening, honey twilight stars.
