THE RED STAR THAT WAITED

It wanted to take me, I refused to go to the unknown

THE RED STAR THAT WAITED

It burns quietly

in the darkest space,

a crimson circle

breathing fire.

Thin branches of light

curl from its heart,

stretching towards me

in silent hunger.

I feel its pull

like an old memory,

a warning hidden

behind the glow.

It watches softly

from the endless dark,

never blinking

never fading.

Something inside it

seems almost aware,

a trembling force

ready to rise.

I stand still

as shadows shift,

hearing a whisper

I cannot place.

Its red glow grows,

alive with intent,

a quiet storm

waiting to open.

And in that moment

I understand its call,

the strange desire

to pull me through.

It waited kind of like a friend knowing you are looking and waiting for some kind of answer or something.
