Dislcaimer: I have not served in any branch of the Military including the Marines. This poem was inspired by a train trip, when I passed Quantico.

The train tracks,

Running through Northern Virginia,

Were made to transport Marines,

To places unseen,

These rails,

Made of steel,

The cargo the train yields,

They go near the Potomac River,

Over the Chopawamsic Creek,

This life on the rails,

Cannot be beat,

The Marines are brave,

When the trains pass by,

Often we will wave,

These are the men and women,

Who protect us day and night,

For this Country and Commonwealth,

They will fight,

The rails carry the heavy artillery,

The tanks,

The Hum-Vees,

All with ease,

As the wind with breeze,

While passing through Quantico.

On another note, I would like to thank those who have or currently serve not only in the Marines, but in any branch of the Military
