Time Spent at Shockoe Bottom

The night goes on,

Until dawn,

Revelers crowd the street,

A night in Shockoe Bottom,

Can't be beat,

The James River at the door,

The rushing can't be ignored,

There are people all around,

The night sky filled with sound,

This a part of Richmond,

People should see,

These wonderful nights,

Fill it with glee,

The lights and sounds,

Know no bounds,

As the night goes on,

Down near the James,

The waters,

I hope are tame,

There is great food to eat,

Nights in Shockoe Slip,

Are a lovely treat,

The time spent here,

Is full of cheer,

As you spend a night,

Here in Shockoe Bottom.
