The quiet in-between

For the Moment of Silence Challenge

Sing for me dearest one!

In this time before dawn, while the chill still blisters the air,

Let your song ring out to banish the silent night!

End this torturous in-between and herald in a new day!

Nature’s breath quickens.

Consciousness stirs.

Eagerness bubbles in my chest.

You made that whole scene come alive! And this line was really quite clever, 'End this torturous in-between'.

Your poem is an amazing reflection of the moment just before dawn breaks.

Although I am seldom "eager" that early in the morning, I do love the song of birds. Beautiful poem

Beautifully done, Heather! I especially love how you describe pre-dawn: "while the chill still blisters the air." Perfectly descriptive. Well done!

Beautiful poetry, Heather! I love the pic. Reminds me of the bluebird’s song in the spring!

Dear Hz - This brings back such poignant memories. Every morning my Wife, in my "Always" story, would PeanutFingerFeed the BlueBirds from our balcony. Now that she's gone they still come by..! J-bud.in.l.a.
