It was a beginning, like no other.
It was not a start where joy was all the more ripe, like a fruit cultivated in spring,
Nor the cheer of frolicking in the beach in summer.
It was the prelude before winter,
The last days of fall before the sound of the snow storm would unleash its unyielding reign,
Like a tyrant of old, unwilling to relinquish it unyielding authority upon the land willingly.
A time of mourning, a season of downcast,
Before one could muster the courage to overcome.
It was a time, we’re darkness lingered,
As the shadows of night were but mere building blocks for hope to be firm and strong at the break of day.
