A hope for what could be.

The dimming light that fades into the west,

The night that rises as winds of winter blow,

The spinning and twirling of snowflakes,

As merry laughter continues near the hearth fire.

Two souls sitting on the sofa,

Laughing joyfully, reminiscing of the year,

And what they were thankful for.

As the moonlight touched the sky,

And the hearts of two lovers looked at each other longingly,

The talk of what could be in the coming year,

And the conversation of what the heart longed for,

Yearned for, more so than anything.

The desire to see this year through,

The dream of being one, from two.
