The Passion of Persephone and Hades
The Birth of Spring

The arid beauty of summer wilts into fall
As Persephone returns to Hades's arms
Deep below the Earth in the Underworld
The plants mourn her loss, now out of reach
But as the leaves and stems crumble
Love blossoms in the darkness
Union of Life and Death
Fiery passion roars
Sparking rebirth
Igniting
Spring’s new
Growth

This poem is amazing! Congratulations on placing first in Savannah's contest!
I love it!
Though Persephone was always sad, this is a great romantic retelling of the story.
Beautiful!! I'm a fall girl personally but I can appreciate the imagery of this piece!! Great work Stephanie!
Wow! just.... aahhhhh wow! 🩷 I enjoyed every line, word, and syllable! "Love blossoms in the darkness" might just be a line that sticks with me for a while. This is so beautifully crafted and captures the odd, crazy, and loving story of Persephone and Hades in such an engaging way! Thank you for entering my challenge, I hope you enjoyed writing this, I absolutely enjoyed reading it! (and will enjoy reading again!)🩷🩷🩷
