The pain that Lingers
A heartfelt reflection on grief, healing, and the emotions we carry within. When the past refuses to fade, the heart speaks its truth. A raw and honest poem about wounds that never fully heal

The Pain That Lingers
It is easy to fall into despair.Hopelessness. Helplessness.Thoughts that whisper: “End it.”
It’s hard to forget pain— but harder to remember sweetness. Every day, you need a reason just to breathe. A purpose, a distraction strong enough - to silence the chaos in your head.
Sometimes, you want to feel it, to see the wound, to dress it— but the real pain is deeper, and it bleeds where no bandage can reach.
You carry it. Because numbing it for a while only makes it roar louder when it comes back.
So tell me— how do you live with the pain? Your happiness? It doesn’t matter anymore. The one thing you cannot hide is being broken inside.
Tears fill your eyes, you want to cry— but you tell yourself crying is for the weak.
So you hold it. Hold it within. Let it weigh heavy, so heavy, that even your dreams now ache.
Awake or asleep— it makes no difference. The mind searches for peace. The heart begs for healing. The eyes— always full of tears that never leave.
Still, you smile. Smile every day to cover the misery. Smile because living— living is the bravest thing you do.
And you remind yourself: I still have a purpose. I turn my wounds into wisdom. I am the author of this life. And my story— my story is still unfolding.
The key is to let go. To release. To step into the light of my talents, my strengths, my joy.
I stay the course. Giving up— is not an option. I turn to my words, my stories, my courage.
And I say it loud—
I will live this life.
I will live this life
to the fullest!
