Here and there and

Gone astray

Who is to say what choices

Not their own

Have strayed from paths

They never owned?

_

This life lived

As well as it may

Until the stars’

Shadows dark en

Into sunrise

Anew

For endless new

Chances to go astray

Again and

Again

Straining at the leash

Of society’s strictures

Structured to keep you

Still.

_

Forever here

Never there

Ever searching

Seeking

Straining

For a chance to see

Beyond another dull

Day dressed same again

In monotone

Grey.

_

For a chance to see

Just one sight of

Over the hills

And far away.
