Raise the Crooked
"Raise the straight and set them above the crooked, and you will win the hearts of the people. If you raise the crooked and set them above the straight, the people will deny you their support" - Confucius

Uprising begins
In beaten minds
In imprisoned
Prisms of thought
Corruption and despotism
Cronyism and nepotism
Common people
Look up and see
All the way down
To despair
As those above
Dance crooked steps
Up the closed path.
_
The crooked raised
High
Above the true:
No sign of sickness
More sure
More true
Amazing, really,
That they can’t see it.
_
Look at them.
Dancing down
Ever farther
Up the closed path.
_
They really can’t
See it.
_
Observe the
Errors
And you will
Observe the
Man.

Oooo, I've only ever heard of nepotism, not despotism, or cronyism. Learnt something new today. Loved your poem!
