The Old Theater Company
~

Playing the part of Perchik,
back when I was free spirited,
when anything was possible.
I’m glad she came to see me in the musical,
for she was like a golden ray,
with wisdom radiating through and through.
I also acted the part of an old man hobbling,
and I remember how much I loved to sing that love song,
because, with that theater troupe, it felt like I really did belong.
Will I ever go back again?
They’ve changed and grown, and I’m not so happy and carefree,
and I don’t know if they’d even care to be with me.
