The Night-time Rainbow

A Poem

By Amethyst ChampagnePublished 2 years ago 1 min read
Picture from my best friend

Standing on beaches, in fields of grass, or in our driveways,

With friends, partners, or family members,

Or even by ourselves,

We wait for you.

***

Then suddenly,

At midnight,

You illuminate the pitch-black sky,

Bathing us in your blue, green, purple, and pink ribbons.

***

We are so privileged to be in your presence,

As many cannot,

Without traveling great distances,

Or stepping away from obligations too important to miss.

***

We take many photos and videos,

To capture the rare moment,

To never forget what happened,

And to share it with those unable to witness the phenomenon.
