You want a love that never needs,
That only asks for what is seen,
Surface level, silent ease,
No depth required to believe.
I want layers, deep and true,
Hidden strength that shines through,
The kind that stays when times are tough,
When temporary fixes aren’t enough.
We speak in ways that never meet,
You silent while I beg and plead,
I vie for connection, you for release,
Two hearts that never find their peace.
The sad truth—I learn too late,
Love alone can’t compensate
For wanting more than you can give,
Or loving incompatible ways to live.

I have a lot of silly things (some dark things) inside my head, so I write them down. Sometimes they turn into poems.
My book Love Ain’t No Friend of Mine is available on Amazon. https://a.co/d/6JYBmLH
