The Nest

A Warrior's Plea

By M.S. MorrisPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

To the end of the line one more time she said.

Like a cobalt blue when I'm feeling red.

Never again will I find a time like the present.

To forget all those dreams buried deep inside my head.

What did we become in this world undone?

Where did we go to sing songs unsung?

Why did we cry ourselves to sleep without our victory?

When do you realize the devil's come for me?

I can't change your mind guess I have to stop, rewind,

The hands of time spoken mysteries inside the line

No use for the warrior souls you trample under feet.

And it goes on and on like wars stuck on repeat.

What goodness forsaken for the security of the moment.

I look around and can't put my finger on it.

You gave too great a price not a single thought.

Realize now the blood shed for your liberties bought.

And on and on it goes the recompence nobody knows.

The cold, in the mud they seldome go.

But we pray for forgiveness as our soul is cast out.

Returning once again to find our people full of doubt.

Could you please excuse me my Brothers need a place to rest?

But instead find the enemy sleeps within the nest.

What have you done with your identity but let it die?

Just to appease the liars as you let evil slip on by?

I'm sorry children for you have failed us all.

And your end is near the writings on the wall.

Why can't you listen to the elders speak?

For in their eyes they see the failure of being weak.

What will you say to your descendants, you let the flame blow out?

And left the evil of the world to enslave them with your own doubt?

I stand now before you and beg for your embrace.

Or cast you all aside, the demons of the human race!
