The more I learn, the less I understand.

The more I learn, the less I understand,
the world is vast, yet slipping through my grasp.
Like grains of time that vanish in my hand.
*
They speak of fate as though it had been planned,
but life is just a breath—a fleeting gasp.
The more I learn, the less I understand.
*
I trace the stars but never see the land,
adrift in thought, caught in the endless clasp
of grains of time that vanish in my hand.
*
If grace is real, then let it take a stand,
undo the weight, unbind me from its clasp.
The more I learn, the less I understand,
like grains of time that vanish in my hand.
