They told me everything would change.
I waited for it.
But the pages stay blank,
and the air still feels heavy.
*
I thought I’d wake up one day
and everything would be different—
the weight of the world lifted,
my past just a shadow that fades.
*
But here I am,
still holding onto the things I’ve lost,
still tangled in memories
I can’t seem to let go of.
*
I fixate on what’s gone,
miss the beauty in what’s still here.
The wind, the air, the light—
they’re still the same.
They didn’t leave me.
I was just too busy chasing ghosts.
*
Maybe change isn’t about waiting
for something to happen.
Maybe it’s about accepting
what is right now—
the constant hum of love,
the sharp edges of pain,
the quiet spaces between.
*
Some things never change—
like the sky,
like the trees,
like the way the world keeps turning,
even when we stop.

So real and meaningful. I felt the pain.
This hits deep. Sometimes, it’s about shifting our perspective instead of waiting for something big to happen!
