The Many Faces of Love
A poem and the song that inspired it
I sometimes wonder -
about the glory of love.
What makes it so fantastic?
Is it faith or trust?
Can we rely on love -
to make our lives complete.
There is the love between parents and children,
the love that friends all share.
There is the love that two people,
who adore one another,
share for a whole life long.
Love can be a magical thing,
a special feeling -
that fills our hearts and souls.
Love is special
and love can hurt.
Love can make us sing -
to dance and laugh and rejoice.
No matter what kind of love
fills our lives -
that is the wonder,
that is the glory -
of this thing called love.

The Advent Wreath
During this period before Christmas we must not forget that there is so much more to this holiday than shopping, decorating, visiting and celebrating. As such Advent is that time period beginning four Sundays before Christmas and for certain Christians it is a season of prayer and fasting and it is also the coming of Christ at the Incarnation. In a lot of households you will find the tradition of lighting the Advent wreath. The wreath is formed like a crown from evergreen branches and represents eternity. It can be store bought or if you have the possibility to get evergreen branches you can make it yourself.
