A poem about how we exploit Tigers.

Somewhere on this earth that we've claimed as our own,

tigers are rumoured to roam.

They are nearly extinct and soon will be,

if the humans don't leave them alone.

Majestic and proud with colours so loud, fur of orange and strips so black.

They should be given their space, in their own special place,

their existence is under attack.

Trapped, killed and tortured, who knows how that felt?

Bones used for medicine, and rugs made from each pelt.

We have to do something,

we can't just stand by,

Watch these beautiful creatures,

one by one die.

When the tigers are all gone, because we left it up to fate.

Their numbers dwindled down to none, and then it is too late.

The earth is ours to share and we have to respect it,

and help to protect all that's living upon it.

A species pushed to the brink of extinction,

pay attention, sit up and listen!

We need to change today or be made to pay,

for our ignorance, evil and greed.

We have to protect them in order to save them,

and encourage wild tigers to breed.

Our children should see them,

and their children's children too,

the future is in our hands,

so what are you going to do?

You can fight for their existence and show them that we care,

or else the great majestic tiger will no longer be there.
