Do I miss you?
Do I long to be with you?
Or is it, perhaps, the essence of your skin against mine?
Is it the way our limbs intertwine?
Do I feel like a branch without her vine?
Do I feel like a rib without a spine?
Or do I feel Sublime...
And is this poem a waste of time;
How your soul was a true companion for the uphill climb,
you made the journey more bearable, how you were always so kind.
This poem is not a waste of time.
It's a shame two lovers of past
can't reclaim the treasure of to each their own peace of mind.
I looked to the Heavens for a sign
you helped keep me safe from external and internal crime,
you helped me pick up the pieces and self refine;
Align and redefine.
You helped me find my sunshine, always so pateint and utterly kind.
You gave me permission to Deeply and sincerely Unwind;
You sat With me with an open ear in my each and every decline...
You held me down when I was ready to resign,
when I wanted to hit rewind.
I like my time and my space, but your face will never be erased.
I just wanna win my race;
I got tired of carrying an Ace.
I've never been good at slowin' down my pace
But God gave me three buckets overflowing with His Grace,
I wanted to make sure I cleared my space so I could fully embrace
And now I'm slowly dancin' up that staircase;
He Had to remove my ankle brace
So I could be Found Again in His hiding Place
And finally Soak Him In Face to Face
