The Longest Walk Back to Your Arms
Reunited and we know it’s right

The Longest Walk Back to Your Arms
I walked alone through years of doubt
past empty rooms and closing doors
the silence louder than our rows
the loss too sharp to mourn or pause
You took the photos down in time
I packed the memories in haste
we made a war of what was kind
and let the days collapse to waste
But nothing stayed the way it broke
the ache grew old, the blame grew thin
a softer truth began to smoke
from all the wrecks we’d carried in
No sudden turn, no lightning spark
just two old hands that reached again
your face familiar in the dark
a whispered start, a drop of rain
We didn’t promise stars or songs
we didn’t claim we’d never part
we chose to try, to right the wrongs
and stitch new corners to the heart
Now every step is slow and sure
not chasing what we used to be
but something deeper, strong and pure
a love that walked its way to me
So here I stand, no need to speak
the past behind, no need to warn
your arms, the home I went to seek
the longest walk back to your arms.

What a beautiful relationship in the poem for this could really happen to anyone. Good job.
