The lion, the scholar, the martyr

Broken reflections

By Cara PleymPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Broken reflections of who I tried to be

Little girl lost in her mother's kingdom

Were they ever truly seen?

Lion heart hurt in the siblings' freedom

I will fill the hollow loss with flowers

Tap tap trap come the acid tears

Break bondage from your higher tower

Clack clack rapt as your carriage nears

I want to live within the soul of stories

Etching out in lines of blood

Only to find the castle empty, boarded.

Seal now the past with Midas touch.
