The Lighthouse Within
A poem about finding your light when the waves rise high.

The tide came in with a furious roar,
Its hands reaching far for the trembling shore.
The wind sang loud in a voice I’d ignore,
For I had heard all of its warnings before.
Yet there in the dark stood a tower of flame,
A beacon that whispered and called me by name.
Its light cut the black with a steadying aim,
And told me my spirit was never the same.
I stepped through the spray with the salt in my eyes,
And watched how the light held its ground in the skies.
It taught me that storms, no matter their size,
Will fade when the fire in your soul does rise.
So now when the waves try to swallow my feet,
I turn to the glow that no night can defeat.
For hope is the rhythm, and faith is the beat,
And love is the harbor where hearts meet and greet.
