The Last Day of a Butterfly

Moonlight whispers

By Rohitha LankaPublished 9 months ago 1 min read

The last day of a butterfly....

The moon and the moon smile

Even if I look through the veil

That day, the stars that shone in your womb

Even if I stay in the world of Sara

Through the gaze of Anura

Even if the love of my heart is broken

Even if the moon cries and mourns

Tell me, my dear, where are you today....

Standing on a distant hill,

The colors fade away

With the gentle breeze that has come

With the little rain that falls

That look that could not be put away

With that blue-eyed gaze

Still, I am a butterfly

Standing in my heart, dreaming of that color

Through the forehead, the tilak, the heart,

Through my lips, I secretly taste

The wide hips are soaked with water

Did you dream sweet dreams in your mind?

Whether your lips are full of pure curls

Did you whisper in a soft voice?

Your still face is on the edge of your head

How do I live my life....

Wow deep and somewhat sad, but lovely as well. Great poem.
