My favorite t-shirt is an Iron Maiden band shirt which I wear most of the weekends. I live a gypsy life out of a 70L backpack, so I don't have much clothes with me and on weekdays I basically live in my work clothes and my pajamas. I love Iron Maiden and I love this t-shirt, I have it for over 10 years and it's becoming visible on it.
But every time I go out in it (weather in France or Hungary, Iceland or the UK) random middle aged white men come up to me to ask me to name 10 songs. Usually they do it with a creepy smile, like they know I won't be able. Well bad news, I am. I should start charging them because if I'd get a Euro each time I get asked I wouldn't need to work a single day in the rest of my life.
But what is actually interesting, is that it only happens with this t-shirt. I have other band t-shirts I like just as much. Not just the shirts but the bands, too like Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones or The Guns N' Roses but nobody asks me to name ten songs from them. Like, ever. Why? What's with Iron Maiden? Or I do I come off as someone who couldn't like a band like Iron Maiden, but any other band? And why no one asks me which is my favorite song?!
I'm gonna start charging... or just show them this poem and see if they figure what it really is.

'20/20'
"Do It Again" the track that would ultimately open the Beach Boys final album on Capitol Records which was released on February 10th 1969 had originally been released as a single in August of 1968. The track was the first of many post-Pet Sounds era throwbacks to the early Beach Boys sound which would become continually more cliched and eventually lead the Beach Boys to the level of self-parody they would eventually succumb to in the 1980s while their closest contemporaries The Beatles nearing the end of their run in 1969 would go on to be viewed as the most influential band of all time. However, the song itself is not bad on its surface, and it opens with a futuristic sounding (for 1969) drumbeat captured by then-Beach Boys engineer Stephen Desper using tape delays on the drums performed by Dennis Wilson and John Guerin. The song has been re-recorded numerous times over the years on various Beach Boys-related projects most notably the 2011 re-recording at Capitol studios featuring the five surviving Beach Boys at the time backed instrumentally by various members of both the Brian Wilson Band and Mike Loves touring "Beach Boys" to promote the then upcoming Beach Boys 50th Anniversary reunion tour in 2012. The hammering and power drill sound at the end of the song was an excerpt from a track called "Workshop" that was to be a part of the uncompleted "SMiLE" album.

I saw that it's mood dependant. Also, do you like the newer stuff? It's slightly verging on proggy stuff nowadays, but I still think IM when playing at the top of their skills, can't be beaten! 2 Minutes to Midnight was the reason and the t-shirt I clicked this. I used to not be a big fan of IM, but, they grew on me. Always thought Bruce Dickinson was the perfect opposite to the perception that metallers are dicks. When really metal in general, aside from the stupid pricks that ask you to name 10 songs, are great. Rainmaker, 2 Minutes to Midnight, Hallowed Be Thy Name, The Trooper, Fear of the Dark are some of my favourites. A funny thing with the t-shirt that I get is when people wear Nirvana and Ramones t-shirts that don't look like and aren't actually fans. But, it's never quite easy to tell that. So also totally agree with you in that regard. Hate gatekeeping. Music should not be locked away or considered wrong for certain people.
