strong black coffee with a splash of milk
take it or leave it

i am a strong black coffee with a splash of milk
just enough to take the edge
no sugar, no honey to mask the bitterness
roasting gives me rich aroma
isn't that why you came for?
i'm not some watered down instant coffee
you can just grab 'n go
i'm not your syrupy Starbucks venti or grande
you can adjust for every occasion
i'm here to remind you of the feeling of being alive
as i flow through your veins
you can love me or hate me
but you'll always remember my taste

This made me want a cup of joe and made me feel it’s ok to be who I am
Great metaphor. <3
Take me as I am, indeed! Your metaphor says it perfectly!
I need a cup from your hands ❤️
Oh, made me want a cortado.
A wonderful coffee moment.
Love the sassy tone of this! Fantastic poem, Imola!
Another poetry hit, Imola, haha. I'm sorry to say I've never had coffee in my life 😬 But you come off as someone who is so strong, so a strong coffee definitely suits you. ❤️
nice
Perfect cup of coffee
Never learned to love the taste of coffee, but I always loved the smell. Those Folger's commercials always captured my attention. Your writing does, too.
Now that's a real caffeine kick! Loved your poem!
Sultry and perfect :)
What a perfect description of what basic brewed coffee is all about. Good job.
Hehe. Loved it the lines "roasting gives me rich aroma " absolutely killed it. Great lines @Imola Tóth
Ahem! This is another brilliant piece. And that ending is superb "i'm here to remind you of the feeling of being alive as i flow through your veins you can love me or hate me but you'll always remember my taste" Bravo.
I'd much rather be reminded of the feeling of being alive!
