The Impossibility of Being Human

to love - but fear vulnerability

to lie whitely - but speak honestly

to need solitude - but crave intimacy

to speak first - without thinking

to want to open doors, and hearts, and minds,

but always find something to hide behind...

...

to become a toddler, at midlife,

to want the whole world in your hands but not your wife,

it's a paradox,

like missing laundered socks,

this thing they call humanity,

when you want to stay,

but also be free

... hypocritic impossibility
