The Ideal Morning
A fun poem about my morning routine, and maybe it will inspire you to create one of your own.
When I get the feeling that it's time for me to arise for the day,
I open my eyes and I feel your warmness kissing my face,
If the blinds are blocking you, I see you still trying to enter, but respecting my privacy,
Knowing that you consume everything.
My humanity is awake,
Thoughts rushing and running to tell me things I know and don't know already,
Sometimes I wake up and I enjoy my thoughts and their anxiety to comfort me,
Sometimes I wake up and I want them to stay asleep while I am awake because it's too early,
But I am alive and I survived yesterday surely,
I am thankful.
Sleepy eyes are met with cold water,
My goodness that was cold but it wasn't a shocker,
Practicing my affirmations more so my self esteem doesn't continue to falter,
But even if it does I am learning how to bring my issues, concerns, and thoughts to the altar,
And say my prayers and show my gratitude for the day ahead.
