All of my life, I searched for meaning
For someone I could feel like I belong
For a purpose to life, some miracle gleaning
To prove that my being here was not wrong.
I expected to spend my life mostly alone
For surely friends had better places to be
How could I be better than time spent at home?
I always was blind to the attraction of me
Meaning and Purpose are ever-shifting aims
That always change over time as you grow
The hunt is not without it's sorrows and pains
And if you succeed, only you will ever know.
